Match.com Review

As you’ll discover in this review, Match.com – one of the oldest online dating sites – has had time to perfect their act, and it shows. Now the fourth most visited online dating site, they have all the bases covered, and much more besides for a truly “state of the art” dating service.

This makes writing a Match.com review difficult. Where to start? A good place to start is with the basics – opportunities for relationships.

With more than 15 million members, Match.com offers opportunities to meet people on a number of levels, both online and off. You can make friends, find dates, join other singles on vacation (with MatchTravel), meet as part of a group at social events in your area (with Match Live) and participate in SpeedMatching sessions, online or face-to-face at local venues. For international friendship and romance, you can’t do better: Match International is live in 37 countries around the globe.

At the same time, Match.com have done a remarkable job of keeping the site super user-friendly. You won’t feel “lost” or overwhelmed by all the options and possibilities, even if you’re new to online dating. Match.com has more than 8 million members but finding your match couldn’t be easier.

Match.comMatch.com search tools are excellent – simple but clever – and allow you to be very specific about the type of person you’re looking for. For instance, if you like people who like reptiles and think their belly button is their greatest feature, no problem. Reptiles and belly buttons are clickable options on the “Custom Search” page.

Once you’ve posted a profile, you can take searches to another level using the “Mutual Match” option which finds people who match each others’ “wish lists.” If you like, the Match.com by Mail option will run the search for you on a regular basis and alert you by email to compatible newcomers – a convenient, time-saving short-cut to the people you’re most likely to like.

No review of Match.com would be complete without mentioning their excellent PhD-designed Personal Attraction Test. Once you’ve taken this test – it’s free – you can search for people based on personality traits.

In my opinion, this is one of the best tests around for depth, accuracy and insight. It delivers a warts and all assessment of your attractions, quirks and shortcomings and (here’s the frightening part) an estimate of the percentage of people who’d find your personality attractive – or not! It also describes your ideal partner, again warts and all.

There’s also a Physical Attraction test (also free and recommended) for insights into physical characteristics that attract you, or turn you off.

If you’ve taken one or both of these tests, you can use the great little “Do we Match?” tool on every profile and see in one click how compatible you are in terms of personality and/or physical preferences.

Profiles are detailed and feature rich and if someone catches your eye, you can send them a “Wink” to signal your interest. Winks are free and if they wink back, it might be time to think about subscribing so that you can get talking.

You’ll get your money’s worth. Match.com has more communications options than any other online dating service: email, voicemail, instant messaging, Match.com phone calls (talk without revealing your identity) and Match Mobile for anonymous text messaging.

As I said at the beginning of this review Match.com has so much to offer it is difficult to do the service justice. In a nutshell, this dating site is highly recommended whether you’re new to online dating or looking for a dating site that’s definately a cut above.
